What does it mean this mercy of God?

The readiness to do good all the time and in all circumstances in mercy. God is love. Mercy is loves second name. Mercy is love in patience. Biblically, the term “MERCY” refers to God’s attitude towards his sinful children. It thus connots to show favour, pity, compassion, love, tenderness, forgiveness, reconciliation, etc. Every day, God reveals different aspect of his mercy. Our space here, limits expansion of this precious terms. William Shakspare, in his play “The Merchant Of Venice” tried to show us the attributes of mercy. To every ear, the name, Mercy is sweet. If the name is sweet, how much sweeter is the quality. Through the mouth of Portia, Sheakespare tells us:

“The quality of mercy is not strained;

It drops as the gentle rain from heaven,

Upon the place beneath, it is twice blest;

It blesseth him that gives, and him that takes; it is the mightiest in the mightiest;

It suites the throned monarch better than his crown.

His scepter shows the force of temporal power.

The attributes to awe and majesty, there sits the dread and fear of kings;but mercy is above this sceptered sways. It is enthroned in the heart of kings; it is an attribute of G od himself, and earthly power doth then show like God’s when mercy seasons justice. In course f justice none of us can see salvation; we do pray for mercy, and that same prayer teaches us all to do deeds of “Mercy…”

In Mercy Girl’s, we aspire to be merciful children of God.
